Villa Ari is a spacious, comfortable private villa set within its own gardens with olive groves surrounding it in all directions. It is positioned less than 30 minutes drive from Heraklion Airport making it a particularly convenient location for those who don’t want to have to travel far on arrival. Although we describe the villa as three bedroom there is an additional studio within the house that can sleep a further 2 people, giving the option to accommodate up to 8 people comfortably, (at no extra cost), which makes it ideal accommodation for families, extended families, a group of friends or even two couples. The villa has a spacious, light and airy open plan split level first floor which has a modern well equipped kitchen, dining and living area. Of course eating in Crete always takes place outside as much as possible so double doors lead from the living area to a terrace, which overlooks the pool and private gardens and across the wonderful natural surrounding hills. The three bedrooms, two twins and one double, are on the top floor and each has its own private balcony. A bathroom adjoins the two twins and the double has an ensuite bathroom. The private studio is situated on the ground floor and can be accessed from inside the villa or from an external door outside the villa. It has twin beds, a shower room, and its own simple kitchen facilities. Doors lead from the studio onto a large patio from where there is direct access to the pool. Although Villa Ari is situated in a very rural location, it’s only 10 minutes from the sandy beach of Amnissos and is within easy reach of the many attractions of Eastern Crete. Knossos, the island’s most well known archaeological site is only 30 minutes away. The mountain plateau of Lassithi with its hundreds of windmills is less than an hour away. The harbour town of Agios Nikolaos and the beautiful coastal resort of Elounda where you can catch a boat to the Venetian fortified island of Spinalonga can be reached within 45 minutes. For golf fans the newly built 18-hole course is situated just 8 kms away and the water parks of Aquasplash and Watercity equally close by make a great day out for all the family!
