If you are looking for comfort, tranquillity, quality and a stunning location then you should be considering the Aspalathos Villas. These four one bedroom spacious villas (that can easily sleep a family of up to four), have a wonderful position perched on a hillside overlooking a beautiful valley. Their design has been well thought out to assure maximum privacy and comfort. Each villa has a double bedroom, a bathroom with bath and shower attachment (and washing machine), a separated living room (where a 3rd person or two children can be accommodated on decent sized sofa beds at no extra cost), an open plan kitchen/dining area, air-conditioning,TV and of course the all important patio. Two of the villas have the bonus of their own exclusive pools but this in no way detracts from the other two villas as they share one large pool between them - crowding is certainly never an issue! And, if that’s not enough, these attractive villas are positioned amongst pretty gardens and have the most spectacular rural position amongst the fertile valleys of this lovely region and all have equally stunning views that take in the sprawling verdant hillsides all the way to the sea.
Even with such a wonderful tranquil setting you are in no way isolated and certainly don’t have far to go to see some of the areas many attractions. The island’s only freshwater lake, Lake Kournas, where the vistas are more reminiscent of an alpine landscape than a Mediterranean island is less than a fifteen minute drive from Aspalathos. The pretty resort and long sandy beach of Georgioupolis can be reached in just ten minutes. Just below the villas, the 13th century Byzantine church of Agios Nikolaos can be reached on foot. Heading south the road climbs high amongst the spectacular peaks of the White Mountains before descending to Chora Sfakion where you can catch a boat to the pretty blue and white, picture perfect, waterside village of Loutro, or to Agia Roumeli situated at the foot of the Samaria Gorge. Or why not really commune with nature and explore some of this lovely area on horse back; sunset beach rides and quiet nature treks are available in the area for both beginner and experienced riders.
Vyrsses, famous for its large plane trees and excellent yoghurt and honey, the largest village in the area can be reached in five or six minutes by car. Here you will find all amenities you might need during your stay including a choice of tavernas.
We think the Aspalathos Villas make an ideal location for couples looking for peace and tranquillity as well as providing excellent value private accommodation for small families.
