| To stay at the Pavlakis Beach Apartments means to experience the genuine and legendary warmth of true Cretan hospitality, for the owner, Andonis Pavlakis, is renowned for his welcome and the extent of care he shows his guests. His reception has become the unofficial bar area with shelves lined with drinks given to him by visitors who have appreciated his charm, knowledge, hospitality and generosity. Andonis takes pleasure in sharing these with his guests and, on many an evening, you will find the guests enjoying each others, or Andonis’ company over a pre or post dinner drink. Andonis also loves to share his local knowledge and will happily suggest places to visit away from the usual tourist haunts.
Andonis’ accommodation includes six spacious studios (that can sleep up to four if desired), two apartments that can sleep up to five and one ‘villa’ apartment with two bedrooms that can accommodate up to six. Although not modern in appearance, the rooms certainly come equipped with all mod cons; air conditioning, TV, radio, telephone, and kitchen facilities that include a kettle, coffee machine, toaster and sandwich toaster. The studios have a large combined living/bedroom area, a separate kitchen, a shower room and a private balcony with sea views. The apartments have a similarly large combined living/sleeping area with three beds and a sofa, plus, in a separated area, bunk beds that are large enough for both adults and children. There is also a small kitchen, a shower room and a spacious balcony that faces directly onto the beach. The ‘villa’ apartment, on the ground floor has two twin bedrooms and a spacious living area that can comfortably sleep two more people on sofa beds. It has two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower, a small kitchen, a dining area and a large patio with comfortable seating. Although positioned directly on the sandy beach of Stalos, there is also a small swimming pool for those who really don’t want to venture far! Mini-markets and a large choice of tavernas are situated within walking distance of the apartments, some right on the beach, and the beautiful Venetian harbour town of Chania only fifteen minutes away by bus or taxi also makes a great venue for dinner. Expect to go home relaxed, suntanned and perhaps with an extra kilo or two after a stay at the Pavlakis Beach Apartments. |
